Patrick Twardowski received a BS degree in Personnel Management from St. Louis University in 1964. Prior to joining Whelan in December of 1969, he spent six years at McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) as a Personnel Administrator.
Mr. Twardowski was elected President of Whelan Security in 1978. Under his leadership, Whelan Security has grown from a single local office with $150,000 in annual revenue to one of the largest contract security organizations in the country.
Mr. Twardowski was appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the St. Louis County Police Department in 1991 and served six consecutive three-year terms through January 2009. During his eighteen year tenure on the Board of Police Commissioners, he served as Chairman for five years (2003 through 2008). Prior to his appointment as Chairman, Mr. Twardowski was Secretary and Chairman of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Academy. Under his leadership, the Academy reorganized its curriculum, significantly increased qualification hours, and was CALEA certified.
In addition to his work on the Board of Commissioners of the St. Louis County Police Department, Mr. Twardowski is also a past Board Member of Backstoppers and Missouri State Bank.
Greg Twardowski is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Business.
When Mr. Twardowski joined Whelan Security, the organization was a well-respected local provider of contract security services. Under Mr. Twardowski’s leadership, Whelan Security has grown from that single local office to one of the largest full service security organizations in the country operating throughout the Central Region of the United States (including Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Colorado, Arkansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and New Mexico). Based upon total revenues and employment, Whelan Security now ranks within the top one half of one percent (0.5%) of contract security organizations in North America and the top fifteen contract security companies operating in the United States.
In 1997, Mr. Twardowski represented Whelan Security as a charter member in the development of TransNational Security Group LLC (TransNational Security), a national partnership and joint venture that includes four of the foremost respected and largest multi-regional contract security organizations in the industry. With annual aggregate revenues now exceeding $445 million, more than 70 local offices, and in excess of 14,800 employees, TransNational Security is continuously ranked as one of the top five contract security organizations in the country.
In 2005, Mr. Twardowski invested in the formation of SFI-Whelan Security LLC (d/b/a Whelan SFI), a contract security company headquartered in the Mid-Atlantic. Today, that organization operates throughout Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.
Mr. Twardowski holds state licenses as a Private Security Contractor in Illinois, Louisiana, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin; and he is an active member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), and the International Security Management Association (ISMA). He also is a former multi-term Board Member the National Council of Investigative and Security Services (NCISS) National Board of Directors.
In addition to his industry-related affiliations, Mr. Twardowski is active in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and also serves on the Boards of Do the Right Thing (St. Louis) and the St. John’s Mercy Health Care Foundation.
Dan Twardowski is a graduate of Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri where he earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Economics.
In his role as Vice President, Dan is personally responsible for management of our St. Louis and Kansas City regions including senior management of our flagship office in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition, he has an active and influential role in any and all strategic, financial, and corporate governance issues and/or decisions within the company.
Working in the contract security industry for more than fifteen (15) years, Dan brings a wealth of experience to the organization. Under his leadership and guidance, the flagship office in St. Louis has grown by more than 200% and operates as the largest contract security office in the St. Louis Metropolitan area and one of the largest in the Midwestern United States.
Dan is an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA); and he represents Whelan Security within the National Association of Security Companies (NASCO). In addition, Dan is an active and current member of the Board of Trustees of Fontbonne University where he serves on multiple committees.
With over twenty (20) years of management, marketing, and sales experience, Mr. Robertson brings a vast wealth of knowledge and experience to the role of Executive Vice President of Whelan Security. Prior to joining Whelan, Mr. Robertson spent twelve (12) years with Barton Protective Services, most recently in the role of Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing (1997 – 2003). In that role, he was the senior manager responsible for building Barton into one of the five largest security providers in the United States and a company that was routinely ranked by Fortune magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. During Mr. Robertson’s tenure with Barton, the company experienced organic growth from $40 million to $350 million, an annual growth rate of 25% in an industry that averages 6% growth.
Mr. Robertson is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and study concentration in marketing. Professionally, he is active in several industry organizations including the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
In his role, Mr. Robertson focuses primarily on sales, marketing, brand development, and public relations for the company. In addition, through his brand development responsibilities, he also has substantial involvement in operations, customer service, and all functional areas of the company. All branches outside of St. Louis report directly to Mr. Robertson.
