A large commercial real estate owner and manager with a portfolio of over a dozen Class A office building properties sought a security company who could offer professional, well-trained security officers who recognize that security in a Class A property is highly customer-service oriented. Tired of dealing with other security providers who claimed to have an expertise in Class A high-rise office building security, this management firm turned to Whelan Security to handle its portfolio needs. Whelan identified a strong portfolio manager to oversee the client relationship, provided professional wool blend suits to the officers and trained the officers to the standards of the Ritz Carlton and International Foundation of Protection Officers. Today, this recognizable property management firm rates its service from Whelan as being second to none.
A global financial services company needed to upgrade the quality of its security service, but had significant time constraints. It needed to make the switch to a new security provider in less than two business weeks. Whelan stepped up to the challenge. In the span of only eight business days, Whelan was able to deploy a management team to oversee the implementation of a security program at 10 facilities which included critical data sites. During that time, Whelan not only identified, screened, selected and trained 95 security officers, but started up the contract with minimal business interruption. Since that time, Whelan has received superior marks for customer service and security from this customer.
A major automotive manufacturer needed a contract security firm who could handle its nationwide requirements, but yet could provide personal and focused management support that the larger security firms had failed to provide them in the past. After much research, this worldwide automotive corporation selected Whelan Security and its national subsidiary, TransNational Security, as its nationwide provider of security services, spanning 16 facilities from coast to coast, over 250 security officers and service needs ranging from access control to communications center management to fire-brigade services. The end result of partnering with Whelan and TransNational was the highest Key Performance Indicator (KPI) performance scores in years, and a consistent level of high service across all of their locations that they had previously not received from the larger national and global contract security firms.
A Fortune 500 company was tired of working with a security provider who responded very slowly and reactively due to multiple layers of bureaucracy in the decision making spectrum of that firm’s management team. Whelan introduced its flat management structure, highlighted by each local manager’s ability to make decisions on the spot as long as they align with company mission and values, and the contract was awarded. Since that time, the client has stated that the service is the best that they have ever experienced, and they are very pleased to be working with Whelan Security.
After 23 years with a national contract security company, a major food and beverage services corporation selected Whelan Security to provide security at one of its major plants. Since transitioning this service in 2001, internal ratings for security services at that plant represent the highest security ratings any plant within this organization has ever received. As a result, Whelan Security’s project manager was asked to visit several other plants around the country in an effort to share the principles and strategies employed by Whelan at our facility.
A commercial real estate company in a major US market was looking for a fresh new alternative for security services in their portfolio of buildings. Whelan Security was identified by the commercial real estate company as a preferred vendor but Whelan did not have any current presence in this specific major US market at that time. Employing our Flagship Account Program model, Whelan Security opened an office in the market at the request of the commercial real estate company, transitioned the portfolio contract flawlessly, and performed so well that Whelan was awarded 16 additional buildings for this management company in four different US markets. Quarterly Truth Report performance scores have averaged well above expected standards. Furthermore, TransNational partners now serve this customer in five additional markets throughout the United Sates. Today, the customer has identified Whelan Security and its national subsidiary, TransNational Security, as its preferred vendor for security services at its locations across the country.
A corporate headquarters location which Whelan had provided service to for years succumbed to pricing pressures, and awarded the security contract to another firm, thus reducing contract security expenditures. Within three months, this company came back to Whelan asking to renew the contract, and admitting it made a huge mistake going with a low bidder in favor of the high quality service that Whelan had always delivered. Whelan renegotiated a new agreement, and now provides the same high level of service today (at reasonable prices) that the client always received in the past.
A large metropolitan newspaper worked with a staffing services company for several years to provide contract security services. However, the client realized that they needed to contract with a company that specializes in security personnel, and selected Whelan, even though Whelan had only been in the market for a short period of time. The customer remarked at the end of the transition of this contract that he was so impressed with the local manager and management support team at Whelan that he knew he had made a great decision. Today, he is a very satisfied Whelan customer, and is amazed that the employees at that account see the local manager multiple times a week, something he never saw from previous firms.
A one million-plus-square-foot office building property in a major US city had a need to partner with a security firm who not only took good care of the security personnel, but who could also provide other ancillary services. Selecting Whelan Security, our program for this customer today includes over 30 security officers, management support, emergency response planning and services, crisis response, incident monitoring and on-line fire and life safety training. Customer satisfactions scores are off the charts.
A global chemical manufacturer saw the need to take security to the next level, especially in light of post-911 security concerns underscored by Coast Guard regulations required of manufacturing plants located on bodies of water. Impressed with Whelan’s Warranty Program, this company agreed to pay significantly higher rates for security in return for the world-class program elements and service guarantees contained within Whelan’s Warranty Program. Nearly two years later, Whelan has exceeded mutually agreed upon Truth Report scores every single month, and has validated this company’s decision to spend money for the level of security it needed.
