Good Morning,
By now you are aware that the Whelan Security staff at LCO has achieved their first performance incentive worthy scorecard. For the first time in managing security at this site, I have witnessed all three critical elements, the branch manager (Jean Perlmutter), the account manager (John Anderson) and the staff performing well above the contracted standards. Jean has been involved in the team development and periodically visits the site; the staff knows him, engages him and appreciates his participation. John has used a balanced leadership approach that has trained and motivated his staff. He has made the team family and the team has demonstrated family values. The staff is dedicated to enhancing security, providing a high level of service and is involved in developing and implementing process improvements. I no longer spend a majority of time micro-managing or correcting operational issues. This team is developing into a model of how the contract security industry adds value to their client, we are not satisfied with anything short of continued improvement. Achieving this level of performance was not easy, sustaining it will be more difficult. We will continue to challenge them and expect them to respond accordingly. I commend the Whelan team and appreciate the support.
