Employee Accolade // September 9, 2011

"Security Officer Jackson's (Dallas, TX) attention to detail…and experience resulted in an unlikely outcome that was a benefit to this property and the community."

Dear Todd,

I am nominating Ed Jackson, Jr. for employee of the month based on the following detail:

On 9/7/11, a store employee observed two individuals acting suspiciously in L'Bartlett (a WV retail establishment). When they departed the store, the employee flagged down Security Officer Jackson who then observed the two suspects get into a black Lincoln and depart WV. Security Officer Jackson got the vehicle license plate and a full description of the suspects. Using his developed relationship with Dallas Police Officer, Cpl. Stephen O'Donnell, he contacted Cpl. O'Donnell and relayed all pertinent information to him. More importantly, Security Officer Jackson, again using his experience, suggested to Cpl. O'Donnell that DPD check Mockingbird Station Retail Center believing that the suspects would likely attempt further thefts at that location due to its similarity to West Village. Acting on Security Officer Jackson's information, DPD deployed several units to Mockingbird Station, including an undercover unit. Shortly thereafter, DPD located the suspect vehicle at Mockingbird Station and subsequently located one of the WV suspects. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of several stolen items including $500 worth of merchandise taken from L'Bartlett. Later that afternoon, the items were returned to L'Bartlett by the DPD undercover officer. The suspect was arrested after confessing to the thefts and although the other suspect was not located, we are confident that he too will be arrested and charged. In conclusion, Security Officer Jackson's attention to detail together with developed teamwork with DPD, particularly Cpl. O'Donnell, and using his security experience at WV and intuition resulted in an unlikely outcome which is clearly a benefit to this property and the community.
