On Tuesday, August 23, 2011, Whelan Security Sergeant Theapolis Khaafidh was instrumental in apprehending a suspected baggage thief. Sergeant Khaafidh, on duty in the Alarm Center, observed an individual resembling the suspect involved in the theft of checked baggage. He also noticed that the individual appeared to be carrying a shirt like the one the suspect was wearing at the time of the theft.

Sergeant Khaafidh immediately notified a detective who was present in the Alarm Center. Dispatch was notified and the suspect was subsequently taken into custody.

I wish to commend Whelan Security, and particularly, Sergeant Khaafidh, for his alertness and quick action during this incident.
