St. Louis – Whelan Security Mid-Atlantic, LLC (dba Whelan Security) is pleased to announce the addition of Jim Gorman as Vice President of our Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Northern Delaware region. Jim brings over 32 years of experience in key leadership positions, serving customers, developing talent and driving growth and profitability to Whelan Security. Prior to joining Whelan, Jim spent 29 years with AlliedBarton in the roles of Managing Partner and Vice President/General Manager. In his most recent role as Managing Partner, Jim was responsible for managing tremendous growth ultimately leading a region that exceeded $250M in annual revenue. In his time at AlliedBarton, Jim directed strategic focus on revenue growth, new business development, and the client experience, while providing outstanding leadership to more than 7,000 personnel and 500+ clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and West Virginia.
Jim began his career with SpectaGuard Security Services as an Account Manager, and quickly rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Operations. There, he was responsible for operational oversight of a $50M business unit with nearly 3,000 employees.
Jim serves on the board of the Citizen’s Crime Commission and was a previous board member of the Philadelphia Police Foundation. He is an active member of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Philadelphia, where he had also served as a past board member.
