St. Louis—Do the Right Thing of Greater St. Louis, a program that increases awareness of children’s positive acts and deeds in the community, welcomes Whelan Security as one of the primary sponsors of the 14-year old initiative. Whelan, one of the top contract security companies in the United States, will help develop and promote positive social behavior in St. Louis area youth by:
“The mission of this organization is to work in partnership, on behalf of the Bi-State region, with area law enforcement agencies, schools, businesses, and the media in an effort to encourage, develop, recognize, and promote positive social behavior in the youth of our community,” said Greg Twardowski, President of Whelan Security. “Although Whelan Security is involved in and supportive of many nonprofit charitable organizations and civic, cultural, and educational endeavors, it is a tremendous honor to be associated with Do the Right Thing of Greater St. Louis, Inc., an organization that is encouraging children to live out the meaning of words such as honesty, respect, and integrity while also inspiring and rewarding them for their actions and ultimately instilling confidence in the future leaders of our society.”
The Do The Right Thing initiative was started in the St. Louis area in 1994 and since then has recognized over one thousand (1000) children each year throughout the Bi-State area. Whelan joins the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the St. Louis County Police Department, KMOV Channel 4, Commerce Bank, Sigma-Aldrich, Schnucks Markets, McDonalds (of St. Louis and the Metro East), Six Flags (of St. Louis), St. Louis Community College, St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Memorial Hospital (Belleville), and the Cooperating School Districts of St. Louis County as primary sponsors of Do The Right Thing.
